Strength and longevity testing

Strength and Longevity Testing: Know Your Numbers

Most people don’t know how strong they are, what their body is made of or how well it uses fuel until something breaks down. We measure it, explain what the numbers mean, and build your training around them so you stay strong at 60 and beyond.

Who it’s for

Find out where you stand, then train for it.

  • Relatively pain free and want to stay that way
  • Training hard and want to know what to change
  • Building muscle and strength as you age
  • Coming back to training after time off
  • Want a baseline to measure progress against

What we measure

The tests behind your plan

Close-up of a foot landing on a VALD force plate

Force plate testing

Force plates measure strength, power and side-to-side balance as you jump, squat and land, so small asymmetries show up before they turn into injuries.

InBody body composition

A segmental breakdown of muscle, fat and water, so you can track the muscle you’re building instead of just the number on a scale.

$50 initial · $30 follow-up

Client wearing a PNOĒ breath analysis mask on a bike

PNOĒ metabolic and VO2 max testing

PNOĒ is a clinical-grade breath analysis device, the same technology used by elite athletes and leading research hospitals. By analyzing what you exhale, it reveals exactly how your heart, lungs, and cells are performing.

$210 · 60 minutes

Strength and movement testing

Measured strength and movement quality, compared side to side, so your program targets real gaps instead of guesses.

What patients say

All reviews
★★★★★

“I have been a patient of Jason Villareal for over 10 years and multiple ailments and injuries. He helped me recover from shoulder surgery, hip surgery, a calf tear and a hamstring injury. I am almost 60 and still running, cycling and lifting - I owe much of this to the care and guidance I received from Jay!”

★★★★★

“As a 52 year old who still feels like he can do any physical activity I did 20 years ago, I can attest to Jay’s … ability to motivate and educate. He doesn’t just push you to get over whatever it is that needs attention, he gives you tools you can use for the rest of your life to overcome what time is trying to do to your body.”

Lee J. · Google review
★★★★★

“Their approach to concierge longevity training really stands out. It’s not just physical therapy, it’s a thoughtful integration of injury prevention, strength programming, and long-term health. … He takes the time to understand your history, identifies the root cause, and then builds a plan that actually supports long-term strength and recovery.”

Patrick R. · Google review
★★★★★

“As a competitive weightlifter entering my 40s, I was finding that some of my mobility limitations that I was able to compensate for in the past had started to become painful and limiting for me. … Since working with Jay, I’ve addressed these issues and found a better way to train so that I can get out of the injury cycle and be a more well-rounded athlete.”

Questions

Common questions

Pricing and insurance
Is this physical therapy?

Longevity training is best if you are relatively pain free and looking for body composition testing, force plate analysis, strength testing or how to optimize your health and longevity. If something hurts, start with physical therapy and we’ll build testing into your plan.

Can I use my HSA or FSA?

Physical therapy is generally an eligible expense for health savings and flexible spending accounts, so you can usually pay with your HSA or FSA card. Performance testing and longevity coaching usually aren’t eligible unless they treat a specific medical condition, so check with your plan administrator.

How often should I retest?

We’ll recommend a retest schedule based on your goals, so you can see what’s changing and adjust your training.
